Kanajar, March 01: Catechism Day (Dotorniso Divas) was celebrated on 28th February 2010 at Lourdes Church Kanajar after the 10 AM mass to encourage young children and appreciate their active interest in learning doctrine of Christianity.

Parish children from Kanajar along with the Parish priest and the staff members participated in the celebrations. All the Catechism teacher's and student's representatives conducted meaningful liturgy at the 10 AM mass.After the Mass Fr. Alwyn gave a short message on the importance of the celebration of Catechism Day and thanked all who helped towards the catechism classes all through the year.

Prizes were distributed to the outstanding students in each class who have done well in the Catechism exam and also to those who attended catechism classes regularly. The children who attended the catechism classes throughout the year were given a book, containing the life of Sr. Alphonso. Children from 1st standard to PUC who got the 1st and 2nd  place during the Parish level Catechism exam were given prizes by their teachers.

The teachers who conducted the classes all through the year were felicitated for their service during the year for teaching Catechism.
Roslyn Menezes of Kapady ward  and Rayan Rebello of Kanajar Ward who stood A+ in 7th Standard Diocese level catechism exam were felicitated by Rev. Fr. Alwyn D’Cunha by offering a medal and a certificate each. Sweets were distributed to all, at the end of the program. Prize winners and teachers posed for a group photo and thus the program ended at 11.30 AM
